Abe,

I believe you would be mobile, unless you are planning to stop in each county and set up to operate. Then break down and move to the next county.

You can make your mobile/rover contacts from anywhere as KC3WOA. These contacts would count for you.

Any contacts made at the CARA event (if there is one) would be made under the Club's call sign K3CAL. These contacts would count for the club.

Maybe Les can add more.

I plan on going to Annapolis that weekend. Could I be a rover make a few contacts at home in St Mary’s county, make some contacts in Calvert, and then make some contacts in Anne Arundel County? As long as I make those Calvert contacts somewhere in Calvert that isn’t Brooms Island would I also be allowed to come see you guys at Broom Island and maybe make a few contacts? I don’t think those contacts would count to my rover score but would they count towards the club station score?

WoW! Les. That's surprising. Seems like not long ago AARC was giving more points for digital contacts than CW, with phone bringing up the rear. I bet there will be a lot of heat about the no digital for 2024. Wondering if the digital guys even know where their microphones are? Glad I'm not the QSO Party Team Leader.

Thanks for the information.

Brian,
There is no Digital this year in the MDQSO Party. There is CW & Phone. The 2024 rules have changeD. Check the AARC WEBSITE. Go to Contest>MDC QSO PARTY>Rules to look at the Final Rules.

CARA members operating as K3CAL, can Hunt for and make contact with other Maryland and DC stations. Or CARA operators can Run CQ, making lots of contacts with out of state stations. All of these contacts add to the overall Club score.
