The background noise on 20M (using CARA's K3) was running between S7 and S9.  Antenna was a 135 Zepp at about 45 ft between two trees.  Here at the home QTH the background noise was about S2.  Not sure of the noise source but I'm suspicious of battery chargers of the like in the nearby maintenance barn.  Lesson learned...do an RFI survey before settling on a location.

But a good time in any case.  The pavilion had a nice breeze through it plus the ceiling fan helped.

Not as successful as we had hoped yesterday. 8 contacts all together. Lots of RFI. We ended up tearing down around 4:30-4:45 due to the band/environmental conditions. All in all, it was an opportunity to get out and set up some equipment and see some faces. That’s a plus. Plenty of shade and the breeze through the pavilion made the day pleasant. Even had a gentleman who is looking to be licensed find and spend some time with us. Thanks to all who operated, stopped by to chat or help out, and contacted us via radio during the event. Member support is what keeps the club moving in the right direction.

We ‘ll do some looking around and experimenting. Hopefully, we can find a more “cooperative” spot for next year.

Shawn… Dale… Anyone… Thoughts and or comments?
