K3CAL.org 146.985 repeater and 444.950 repeater (linked) and Echolink K3CAL-R
Net Control: KB3WFV
KC3QQD: There are some events coming up in April, including NVIS day for which we need more members to commit to working. The Calvert Parks event designed by Dave KB3RAN is also due to begin in April – let’s see if we can get some club members to assist him with it. We had another mention in the ARRL Letter this time in regard to the STEM Expo event headed by Shawn-N3AE. Great work by Brian and Matt and the rest of the repeater committee making some tweaks to the system in the past couple of weeks.
KB3WFV: Went over to W3OH’s QTH did a Ham Radio Rescue – subject to availability.
KB3RAN: In The mobile.
KC3WRX: 4/29 – AUXCOM meeting at Harriet Brown. SKYWARN group is SO. Md. Subnet. Suggest re-training every 2-3 years for spotters.
AB3LE: needs to beef up system at QTH – please advise him if he is difficult to copy.
W1AJW: Ospreys are back – watching nest building – a sign of Spring.
W3OH: Thanks to Brian and Steve for coming over to help track down an RFI problem
N3WYG: Greetings from Bowie – interested in Skywarn
W3PQS: Got a VHF and UHF antenna in the air again.
N3ILH: Explained POTA to a Park Ranger. Kept about an hour ahead of the storm in MS and AL.
W3EME: Had a CME recently that caused lots of radio interference and aroura borealis quite far south. HF signals can sound wobbly or “watery”.
K3OCM: been busy with digital radio and raspberry Pi.
Respectfully Submitted,
