Hello everyone.
This is a report from the repeater committee. We received some information from Eric that they were taking the tower apart at Barstow location. So being good ham radio operators. We went down to take a look. We talk to the foreman and he said we could have anything we wanted off the tower. So, we took two six-foot standoffs and two antennas, one can be modified for 2 m. The other is unknown. Looks like 800 MHz but that's just a guess.
We know antennas at the Prince Frederick tower that we use for A.R.E.S. are bad and we know we need to standoffs When we replace the antennas.
I Shawn has the antenna at his house and I have the standoffs at my house. Lucky me their heavy 150 pounds each.
If you have any questions let me know. I will also be at next month's meeting. If you have any questions.

Subject: DB-224 Re-Tune & Phasing Harness
Based on one person's experience, the stock phasing line doesn't work very well on 2M. But probably the easiest solution is a stub match at the feedpoint. Note how they lowered the DB-224A frequency by adding tabs or bolts to the ends of the folded dipole tubing.
