[K3CAL] GMRS Radio Recommendations

The Radioddity GM-30 PLUS Is a good radio. It has 10 zones with 100
stations per zone. Zones 2-10 are RX only. I have several for my family and
have Zone 2 set to monitor local ham repeaters and Zone 3 to monitor
Calvert EmComm frequencies. These can be ordered from either Amazon or
Radioddity, although the Radioddity orders are often shipped from China.
Amazon is faster. The radio allows users to page individual units by
assigning a code to each radio and can be used to receive location
information. They sell individually or in pairs. There's programming
software in Chirp and also from RT Systems. It's also Bluetooth
programmable with the app.

Another affordable radio is the Wouxun KG-S65G. It has 400 programmable
channels. It's available from ButTwoWayRadios dot com in Rock Hill SC. They
only ship on weekdays and I've received them within 2-3 days after
ordering. The last I checked the only programming software is on the vendor
site.

On the high end side us the BTECH GMRS Pro. The radio is programmable from
an app which can also install firmware updates. The only issue is if you
have multiple radios, as each needs to have a unique identifier to assure
installation. They have a nice programming interface that can easily be
changed on the programming app. Available from BTECH in South Dakota or
Amazon.
