Hehe, that reminds me of a scout group I team teach with.  The four of us get together about once a year.  There are two Jim's - old Jim and young Jim.  Od Jim is actually younger than young Jim.  Young Jim definitely looks older than old Jim.  One of the scouts apparently couldn’t tell and so accidentally called the younger Jim ‘old Jim’.  

It became a fun joke, and us other two in the group who are not named JIm are now known as ‘Wannabe Jim’ and ’not Jim’ (that’s me!).  We use it as best we can for fun in skits and otehr opportunities.

As for naming, I'm often "New Joe" in groups, but then sometimes the Joe already in the group objects to being called "Old Joe", so they call him "Original Joe" or in one case "Big Joe"

And I am interested in ARES, but I'm currently only a technician, and have two other conflicts: I host a board game night every other Thursday, which is going to conflict for your next two meetings, and if there's a large enough disaster, I'll probably be in Upper Marlboro, as I'm an officer of their CERT team and on the town council. ... and there's that issue that I'm in PG, so Jim Montgomery will likely try to get his hooks into me.

ps. I had mentioned to Brian that I used to manage mailing lists in the past.  Mailman isn't one that I've used, and there seem to be a lot of gaps in the documentation (like for topics, which usually allows to add something like "[job]" to the subject line, and others can then it to not send them those)
