Good Morning,

The Calvert Amateur Radio Association is currently raising funds to support an Antenna Project at the Prince Frederick Tower Site. Through a MOU with the State of Maryland, CARA has maintained this site on it's own, without assistance from Calvert County Emergency Management. While this relationship offers CARA greater flexibility with how the site is used, it burdens the club with the entire cost of it's maintenance and repairs.

Chip in with a donation today at: https://www.k3cal.club/donate.html

Currently the antennas, and likely some antenna feed line are non functioning and need to be replaced. Several CARA members have assembled and donated all the necessary items for installation on the tower. The State requires professional, certified, licensed, tower climbers to do any work on their towers. The cost of this project is estimated at $4,000.00.

Help Us Reach Our Goal: https://www.k3cal.club/donate.html

Through the generous support of fellow CARA members we are almost half way to our goal, raising $1650.00 so far. You can help! Visit the CARA website at https://www.k3cal.club/donate.html and make a donation today!

This antenna project, once completed will allow CARA to bring amateur radio to the local area. Offering the addition of a GMRS repeater for non amateur use and expand the capability of member supported 6 meter FM repeater. All of the gear is ready to go, assembled and donated by CARA members, All that is left to do is to pay a tower crew to put up the antennas.
