(7/14/2025)*
*Reply-To:* ema at stmarysmd.com

*BLUF:* Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected across the state
today (7/14/2025) with potential for significant impacts. Storms will form
in western MD early this afternoon and then spread southeastward later this
afternoon into this evening.

*Timing: *Anticipated impact for southern MD is evening to overnight hours.

*Local Impacts:*

   - Flash flooding is the primary threat due to slow moving and repetitive
   nature of the storms
      - Slight (at least 15%) risk of excessive rainfall causing flash
      flooding
      - Scattered instances of flooding expected, potential for more
      widespread flooding
   - Rainfall rates of 2-3 inches per hour possible
   - Isolated totals of 3-6 inches are possible in areas with multiple
   rounds of thunderstorms
   - Isolated instances of damaging winds more than 60mph possible (5-14%
   chance)
   - Frequent lightning
   - Flooded roads, traffic accidents, debris, dangerous driving conditions
   - Possibility of power outages
   - If severe flooding occurs, it may cause sewage overflows or
   contamination of drinking water

Please find the NWS briefing slides and MDEM situation briefing attached to
