Parks on the Air (POTA) is a ham radio activity where operators set up portable stations in parks to make radio contacts. The goal is to promote emergency awareness and communications. 

Learn How it works from the 2025 CARA POTA Team. 

 Operators travel to parks and set up their equipment.
They make radio contacts with other ham radio operators. 
Most contacts are brief, but some operators may chat. 
Operators can post their spot on the POTA website or a DX spotting site.

    You can learn how to participate at the February CARA club meeting. Join us at our monthly CARA meeting for a POTA presentation from the 2025 CARA POTA Team. Erik K3QQD, Andy WA4BRX, Todd W3EME and Dave W3PQS will give you all you need to know to join the team at a local park activation.
