[K3CAL] CARA recognized by Calvert County

 Last week the Calvert County Government posted a photo and some very nice comments about CARA on their Facebook page.

" On Jan. 9, 2025, the K3CAL Calvert Amateur Radio Association, Inc (CARA) received a grant from Mobile Communications America (MCA), presented by MCA Vice President Roger Cassell. The grant aims to promote electronic education and STEM access. 
The local amateur radio, or ham, club plans to use the funds to offer in-person technician-level operator classes in Calvert County and teach students at the annual Calvert County Public Schools - CCPS Career and Technology Academy event. Additionally, CARA supports the Calvert County Department of Public Safety, Emergency Management Division, and Calvert County Sheriff's Office by providing situational awareness during weather events, conducting emergency communication drills, serving as a backup communications system during disasters and supporting emergency preparedness outreach efforts.
