Good morning all...
Here is the latest from NWS concerning the winter weather expected:
https://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=MDZ018&warncounty=MDC009&firewxzone=MDZ018&local_place1=Prince%20Frederick%20MD&product1=Winter+Storm+Warning&lat=38.5486&lon=-76.5891
At this point, I'm not anticipating a formal Skywarn Net based on the length of time this event will last as well as the fact that NWS is not set up for long duration Net Control Station comforts(sleep, hygiene, etc). I will try to monitor the primary repeater throughout the event and pass on any pertinent info.
Spotters are asked to report the following:
-First 2" of accumulation then every 2" after
-Any accumulation not forecasted
-Final snow amount
-Ice glaze from freezing rain
-Ice accumulation in tenths of an inch
-Final ice glaze amount
-Any change in precipitation type and time of change
This info can be reported by phone or online using the following link:

If I'm made aware of any additional information, I will pass it along.
If you haven't done it already(which I assume you have), please charge any batteries and prepare your back-up power sources and make any last-minute preparations.
Please stay safe and warm!
