[K3CAL] ALERT!: RACES Activation Possible on the K3CAL Linked Repeater System

On Tuesday September 10th 2024 starting at 8:30am. The Calvert Emergency Management will be conducting their annual CALV-EX test. This test scored by FEMA, measures Calvert County's ability to respond to and handle an emergency.

This is a very important test for Calvert County Emergency Management. One that is directed by and monitored by Federal and State Officials. The EOC is not aware of all of the twist and turns this simulated test can take. SO BE PREPARED.

NOTE: This is a simulated Emergency for the purpose of the CALV-EX testing.

The Calvert Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES), nay be called on to perform certain functions during this test. IF this occurs the K3CAL linked repeater system will be placed in to an "ARES NET ACTIVE" mode. This means that ALL normal amateur radio traffic on the repeater system is SUSPENDED. ONLY, net control traffic from the Emergency Operation Center RACES radio operator is allowed.

Please monitor the K3CAL repeater system for possible activation of RACES CALV-EX radio traffic and participate only if asked to do so by the RACES net control.
