[K3CAL] Wow! What a weekend!

Hello everyone.

The 2024 CARA Field day was a lot of fun. According to the sign in sheet, there were thirty seven visitors who stopped by. That might be a record for CARA. Lots of folks were there, including Mike Grierson and Kara Buckmaster from the Calvert County Emergency Management. Kara even made a few contacts on the air! You should have seen the smile on her face. We saw several club members and lots of guest. Some were hams who had a chance to operate on the air, others were curious about the hobby. We had four stations set up, running on emergency power. Operating phone, CW and digital. Then there was the food. Lots of food. Some of the best home cooked meals in Calvert County.

Thank you to all of those who supported the 2024 Calvert Amateur Radio Association Field Day!

 To our seasoned members: Thank you for organizing field day for many years. Sometimes with just a hand full of people. Your experience and know how is a valuable resource to the club members.

To our newer members: Thank you for all of your enthusiasm and eagerness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in. After so many years of just a hand full of amateurs, It is great to see so many folks interested in, and willing to, participate in amateur radio. Your patience and understanding is appreciated as we adjust to having all of the fresh ideas and energy in the club again.

To our guest: Thank you for stopping by and taking part in CARA's Field Day activities. We enjoy sharing the hobby of amateur radio with others. We hope you will  visit with us again soon.

Now it is time to look to next year. Field Day is always the FOURTH FULL weekend in June. Next year's CARA Field Day will be on Saturday  June 28th 2025.

So, grab a calendar and your favorite color crayon and circle the date. Tell the job your off that day, reschedule that vacation, tell the kids no wedding on field day, tell the pregnant spouse to hang on a couple of more days. Do what ever you need to do to set aside June 28th 2025 for the CARA Field Day. We'll plan on seeing you there!
