[K3CAL] Zoom meeeting discussions

 In case you missed it.

Attached are the August meeting minutes, sent out by K3CAL email list. Where members expressed concern about the use of Zoom.

Below is the Email sent out to the K3CAL email list requesting input regarding the use of Zoom.

Also attached are the September meeting minutes also sent out by K3CAL email list. They note the lack of response to the request for comments. That prompted a change to what is now the current policy.... Suspend wide spread distribution of Zoom, but continue the use of Zoom on a per-request basis for those who need it.

This policy change makes more work for the volunteer board members in an effort to encourage in person attendance to meeetings. Thus preventing clarifying emails like this.

If there are any suggestions on how to generate more in person participation at club meetings and club functions PLEASE feel free to click " Reply All" to this email and pass them along.

    CARA Members,       At last night's meeting, the subject came up of continuing with Zoom connectivity for our meetings.  Several members expressed concerns that virtual attendance hurts active participation and camaraderie associated with in-person gatherings.        As the association secretary, I was asked to poll membership on their opinions for returning to in-person meetings, with the understanding that some individuals with medical issues, transportation issues or away on travel would still like to participate virtually.  Those individuals (not the general membership) would be accommodated by requesting the Zoom access information a day or two prior to the meeting.         If you have an opinion one way or the other, please let us know by email to board at k3cal.org       OBTW ... join us at King's Landing Park tomorrow (Aug 12) for the Maryland QSO party.
