[K3CAL] ALL STATIONS! Check Your Radios

Hello all,

PLEASE CHECK YOUR RADIOS!

Recently it has been observed several times now that a station is accidentally transmitting on the K3CAL repeater system.

When this occurs, listeners of the K3CAL repeater system can hear what sounds like road noise, music, and voices in the back ground. This may be caused by a mobile hand microphone not secured, perhaps being sat on or stepped on. Maybe a Hand Held Radio sitting in a cup holder in such a way that the PTT is being pressed. Even a radio set to VOX (voice activated transmit) may cause this. Sometimes the colder weather can cause a PTT switch to stick in transmit, indicated by a TX display on the radio.

Please check all of your radios, Fixed or home station, portable stations, Hand Held station and mobile station to make sure that they only transmit when you intend them to. 

It would be really disappointing for me, to overhear what someone is getting me for Christmas because of a stuck microphone.
