Notes from 3/20/2023:
KB3WFV: Has been working on the repeaters and links, primarily Lusby.
KC3QQD: As decided by the membership, he submitted the ad for the SMVFA Convention Book - this may get some community interest and new members. The article in the paper about the repeater work was in the ARRL news again which may get us some attention. Per KB3RAN’s suggestion, we may start an events committee and we will be taking volunteers.
N3AE: working on PL filter. A Skywarn Class for the county in the works.
KC3WRX: On the website with the Skywarn folks, looking for volunteers for Net controls. Classes scheduled for training in PG county. Contact Andy – 4/19 is next Auxcom meeting
N3PPH: Went to the hamfest – tailgaters in 20 degree weather! Saw some folks there.
W1AJW: sent off his dues and is happy to be official again.
KC3RWT: greetings.
KB3RAN: Has been working on Calvert Parks radio event – making a list – he will run the event 4/1 through 12/31/2024. Points system. Similar to POTA. 24 hour blitz = CARA only make as many contacts as possible. Also – consider a sub contest for Maryland QSO party. Involvement award. Suggests we establish an events committee. NVIS day 4/22/2023 – by swimming pool or by pavilion.
W3OH: solved smoke detectors – communication wire was acting as antenna.
W3PQS: programming a Baofeng. Went to hamfest and picked up some items.
N3IVK: Greetings.
KB5LNC: greetings from Stafford.
WB6NCO: Lunch on Wednesday 1130 at Thursday’s in Owings. Staying busy with scouting.
W3SMM: greetings from his QTH.
