You are correct, we do still receive money from Smile.Amazon.com, but there is no way to estimate the amount.  The amount is not or has ever been large. It is usually in the 20 to 40 dollar range every quarter.  It I highly dependent on our members, who are familiar with the program and order using smile.amazon.com and designate “Calvert Amateur Radio Association” as their Charity.  We really need to push that more.

You can, for the most part, order anything that is available on Amazon.com. and we get .05 percent of the cost as a donation.  They sent it to us every quarter. Anybody can use the system from anywhere in the US.  But they do have to designate CARA as their charity.

What Dave Weaver says is correct. It is hard to estimate that amount also. He estimated it at “0”. We get 20 dollars per membership, but if it is sent via PayPal, the association only gets 29.11. Yep, we pay 89 cents for each one.  And that is because we are a designated charity by the IRS.

Is CARA no longer receiving funds from Amazon Smile? And are there any other venues that would provide funds to the club in a similar manner?

Also, is there a list of equipment and supplies that are being sold that would benefit the club?

As you can see the income for the Association is dues only.

The club needs some feedback on other ways to make a few dollars to put into the Association’s pocket.  Please everyone Feel free to make a comment and send back your opinion.  As of now, the only way the Association gets money is from yearly contributions and dues.  We need some good ideas how to make some money for the year. 

I have listed on the budget for 2021.  Some expenditures please add to it or delete It. it’s a proposal. The club will support its members and activities.  If it is listed in the budget.

Last of all, we need this back by February 24, 2021.  We need to vote on budget.  The next meeting is March.  This will give us a budget for the year.  We can change it during the year as needed.  Also, just because it’s listed as a dollar amount for activity or expenditure.  The club does not have to use all that money.  What is left over is put back into the budget for the following year.
