It is important to note that the budget 'example' included in Dave's W3PQS email shows NO income. The money being used in this example is coming from money left over from last year. A 'no' income budget is unbalanced and should be carefully considered before approval.
Imagine a personal house hold who suddenly finds that the retirement, investment and social security checks stop coming in. That house hold has NO income. The only money it has is money left over from last year. How long can that house hold continue to pay it's bills before it goes broke ??
Dave's example budget shows how much money it will take to run the club for 2022. The example budget reflects the typical club activities over the course of the year. He appropriately identifies the need to increase or generate income to the club in order to do the things it's members want to do.
Ways to create income:
Membership Dues are... well.. Due now.
Current members can renew by sending in the $20.00 in dues.
New members can fill out an application and send in their dues.
Increase the number of members
Increase the amount of membership dues
Hold fund raisers, like a pancake breakfast
Hold raffles.
Sell off unneeded or donated equipment at ham fests.
Sock hops.
Bake sales.
Dunk tanks.
Charity runs/walks
Private donations
Public donations
Business donations
etc, etc.
All of the above requires the participation of club members. What can be done to bring income to the club?

Calvert amateur radio Association, Inc.
2021 annual budget proposal
As you can see the income for the Association is dues only.
The club needs some feedback on other ways to make a few dollars to put into the Association’s pocket. Please everyone Feel free to make a comment and send back your opinion. As of now, the only way the Association gets money is from yearly contributions and dues. We need some good ideas how to make some money for the year.
I have listed on the budget for 2021. Some expenditures please add to it or delete It. it’s a proposal. The club will support its members and activities. If it is listed in the budget.
Last of all, we need this back by February 24, 2021. We need to vote on budget. The next meeting is March. This will give us a budget for the year. We can change it during the year as needed. Also, just because it’s listed as a dollar amount for activity or expenditure. The club does not have to use all that money. What is left over is put back into the budget for the following year.
