We had a fun and successful Hospital Drill on Saturday with 8 or so folks showing up to erect 4 antennae and 3 stations or was that 4? Anyways, we had a good time and accomplished our mission while enjoying the sunny but cool morning.
Part of the fun of these operations is getting the gear set up and making the necessary contact or message sent or whatever. But another important part is to get together to talk, eat, drink coffee and enjoy the outdoors. While in conversation with Dale KC3QQD and Les KH6CUG, we agreed that getting together to go camping would be fun. So, I'm sending out a feeler to see if others would be interested in getting together a few times a year to go camping together. Let me know a few things:
What kind of camper gear will you be using? Camper trailer, tent, campervan, Class A and so forth.
Do you need hookups?
Can you boondock without hookups? For how long?
Do you need bathroom/shower facilities onsite?
Where would you like to go? In-state, locally, regionally, nationwide or it doesn't matter.
Would you be bringing family, pets, kids?
Do you prefer: Isolated primitive sites, fully developed campgrounds with hookups and amenities, somewhere in the middle?
When are you available? For how long? Weekends or weekdays?
Do you play an instrument or sing? That question is one I'm interested in personally.
Email me personally or call and I'll share the results with the reflector when we get some plans made. Hopefully we can go somewhere in May. Oh, and there might be some music around the campfire.
