Hello all.

Yesterday the 6/22/2001 I went down to Lusby to work on the repeater
antennas and try to troubleshoot with support from the field . After the
second trip down there. Thanks to the county government. I got the right
key and started late hope that did not inconvenience the people that were
helping me do the test.

Test #1 install the top antenna cable to the transmitter portion of the
duplexer. Put the lower antenna cable to the receiver portion of the
duplexer.

Ran the test, I could receive everyone but the transmitter did not come up
for everyone just to strong signals, weak signals heard them but they did
not get retransmitted very intermittent..

Test #2 reversed the order install top antenna cable to the receiver portion
of the duplexer. Put lower antenna cable to the transmitter portion of the
duplexer.

Ran the test. I could still hear everyone but the incoming signal dropped
and about 1/2 of what I was receiving from the top. Same results. Strong
signals work very well. Weak signals

heard them but they did not get retransmitted very intermittent.

Test #3 this time we did not use the duplexer at all .Connected the top
antenna cable to the output of the amplifier. Connected the bottom antenna
directly to the receiver of the repeater.

Ran test. I could hear everyone at the repeater site strong signals work
very well. Weak signals heard them but they did not get retransmitted very
intermittent.

Test#4 connected the top antenna cable directly to the receiver of the
repeater. Connected the bottom antenna cable to the amplifier output.

Ran test could hear everyone at the repeater site strong signals work very
well. Weak signals heard them but they did not get retransmitted very
intermittent.

Test#5 reverse antennas ran test same results, the receive signals were
about one half the signal strength.

Test#6 connected top antenna cable directly to the output of the repeater
change power setting on repeater to 50 Watts. Connected bottom antenna
directly to repeater.

Ran test heard everyone very well. Strong signals heard very well. weak
signals heard them but they did not get retransmitted very intermittent.

Test#7 connected my Yaesu FTM 400 D to the top antenna ran test. Talk to
everyone very well on 2-meter repeater and simplex 440MHz.

Ran test will lower antenna same results. Incoming signals were about after
strength.

I was not on the receiving end of the test. This is the results of the test
I ran at the Lusby location only. I may have forgot to put down another
test to things got very hectic by myself and I did not have good notes.

I hope this helps everyone to understand what's going on at the Lusby Tower
site.
