to 57 mph
- PLAN: Plan for hazardous wind of equivalent tropical storm

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through
central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
A few severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and
evening, especially near the Baltimore Metropolitan area into
northeast Maryland. Damaging winds are the primary threat.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday
Tropical storm force winds are possible across the area waters,
particularly over lower portions of the tidal Potomac and
Chesapeake Bay Thursday afternoon into the night. If the storm
tracks closer to our area, flooding rains, minor to moderate tidal
flooding, and isolated tornadoes would all be threats. For
additional information on Hurricane Elsa, consult the latest
forecast from the National Hurricane Center.
There is a slight severe storm threat for Friday and Sunday.
Scattered severe storms are possible.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation may be needed this afternoon and evening, and
again for Friday and Sunday.
