a friend in NH used the fishing pole and sinker once. worked pretty good.
i'd say try that route first, cheap. if it works you're in like flint!
next step.....build a potato gun. some pvc pipe, nair hair spray, and a
grill ignitor. chamber size is critical. plans on the web. i worked for
the physics department years ago, one of the profs figured out
muzzle velocity was about 600 ft/sec. that will definitely work. just
need to aim high, too low and you'll hit your neighbor's window an
acre over.
a friend * myself made one once. didn't know if it was firing, so i stood
back, looked down the barrel *(NO POTATO IN IT!!!!!!!!)* as he hit the
ignitor. ball of flame shot 5' out the front. one of those times where
they had to peel me off the ceiling with a putty knife again.
