Andy, I use a fishing rod and a 3 ounce sinker painted white, yellow or orange. With the sinker up thru tree and back down again, and still connected to the fishing line I then cut the sinker off and tie para chord onto the fishing line and then pull it up and over the tree with the fishing rod. Finally I tie the center point of the antenna onto the para chord and pull it up into the tree.
I have also used Synthetic Textile Industries Antenna Support Rope DBR-94-100. Check out DX engineering. This stuff is like iron. I used the same rope over and over. some 20 years old.
Remember, you will need to purchase a length double the height of the tree since when you are pulling up the antenna rope from one side of the tree while the antenna starts out on the ground on the other.
Good Luck.
