Here's something interesting.....   a long endurance tethered UAV that can lift your VHF/UHF antenna to great heights while remaining stationary for hours, days or weeks.   A pair could make a split site repeater.

The trick is sending electrical power at high voltage up a tether to the UAV where it's converted back to lower voltage to run the motors and avionics.  High voltage allows the tether wire gauge to be much smaller and thus lighter in weight.

Now if someone could figure out how to couple RF to the tether itself, you could have a full size 160M quarter wave vertical (after adding the required ground radials).

Cost?  I'm guessing a good deal more than a top of the line ICOM IC-7851.
