Attendees will also learn basics about winter weather and tropical hazards. At the end of the training course, attendees will be assigned a SKYWARN® spotter number, which is maintained in the official database at the NWS in Sterling, Virginia. Attendees will also be directed how to report vital weather information to the NWS. Citizens who have attended this course previously, but want a refresher, are encouraged to attend. Citizens can sign up for the class online at www.weather.gov/lwx/skywarn. Registration closes Sunday, June 28 at 1 p.m. and is required for participation in this course.
