James,

I'm writing to make sure that you've heard about Winterfest 2018, the annual ham radio flea market in Northern Virginia. This event brings hams and other makers together to find some bargains on radios, antennas, radio-related publications, electronics/computer gear, test equipment, and components. Winterfest grows every year, and I expect over a thousand attendees this year. With loads of vendors already lined up, this year promises to be exciting. There will be all kinds of gear from commercial and hobbyist vendors set up at tables both indoors and in the outdoor tailgating area.

VE exam sessions are scheduled during the event! It's a great opportunity to get your first amateur radio license or upgrade your existing one.

As with all hamfests, come early to find the best stuff and then stay late to connect with friends. The best source for details and updates as the event approaches is the VWS website, but here are the essentials:
When

March 18, 2018 -- Tailgating starts at 6am; Indoor sales area opens a 8am. Everything will wrap up by 2pm.
Where

Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale Campus, 8333 Little River Turnpike Annandale, VA. Talk-in on the 146.91 repeater.
Admission

Attendees
Tickets are $10 at the door; students high school age and younger get in free when accompanied by an adult. Free admision for students with a college ID.
Vendors
Tables are $32 ea. Tables reserved and paid by 1/31/18 will be charged at a discounted rate of $27. The table rental price includes vendor passes for your staff up to the number of tables rented. Additional vendor passes are $10.

We still have some indoor table spots available but they're going quickly.

Tailgating
$20 for first space rented and $10 for each additional space. Rental price includes one admission to the indoor exhibits.

This event is run by the Vienna Wireless Society, a not-for-profit amateur radio club located in Vienna, Virginia. This is an ARRL-affiliated event. The proceeds from this event help support the activities of the Vienna Wireless Society which include community service, emergency preparedness, education, and technical innovation.
