[K3CAL] NVIS Day is today

I hope you will join me at the Chesapeake Ranch Club Airport MD50 today Saturday April 28th for some field radio operations.  We will set up Near Vertical Incidence Skywave antennae and participate in the Ohio ARES NVIS Day activities.  This is to support regional communications in case of an emergency.  It will be from10 AM to 4 PM with a lunch break, bring a sack lunch and hydration.  Emergency power and field expedient antennae are game today.  And making voice and digital contacts with Ohio and other states participating.

The location will be near the wash rack at the airport.  GPS addresses are 12003 Doubletree Lane or 956 Side Saddle, Lusby 20657.  These are approximate addresses within site of the area where we will set up in a grassy field beside the runway.

I plan to arrive around 0900 and begin setting up my solar powered station.  I will have a generator available if needed.  And a refrigerator to keep food and drinks cool.  I'm also bringing a shade shelter.

This is great way to check out your Field Day operating station.  NOT a contest.  No pressure to make contacts and a great shakedown op for summer portable ops.
