I sent the message to the wrong mail address and it bounced. So, I'm resending and attaching a photo from our CARA breakfast at Rise and Shine Cafe in Sunderland attended by 10 who enjoyed a great breakfast and camaraderie (a feeling of good friendship among the people in a group,) And, yes, I looked up the spelling...
The breakfast was followed by an ARES exercise. We had 6 folks participating and were able to complete our mission of sending an receiving packet messages by HF and VHF as well as an ICS Form. Then we went over and above and sent the breakfast photo to the net. It was a much smaller version and took about 6 minutes to send.
Then Sean N3AE, Steve N3IPN and myself looked at the pavilion near the barn at King's Landing Park. It has the minimum requirements for our needs for Field Day. More discussion and research is still needed for our 2017 site. I will contact the county so see if it is available. There could be a $50 or more charge.
And lastly, I have sent a request for the RFI Guy to speak on June. Don't have a speaker for May 4. April 6 is a business meeting.

As per the email below this one:
I'm looking for help with the display case at Prince Frederick especially stuff like an old tube radio or power supply chassis, a telegraph key, and other visually interesting items for display. Items will be locked up but no liability for loss or damage is assumed by the library or club.
I would like to get with some others to look again at the American Legion Post at Chesapeake Beach with the Field Day committee (so far Monican and myself, if I remember correctly.)
And I would like another set of eyes at St Mary's City on April 23rd when I meet with the representative of Historic St Marie's Citie (yes, that's their official name.) There will be a rep from SMCARA there also. To look at the site and see what provisions need to be agreed upon for the Museum Ships weekend.
And I need someone to help with arranging for speakers for our general meetings. Just doing some email or phone contacts to line up programs.

I went to PF today and visited with Monica KC3DAS about the display materials for the display case the PF library which I have scheduled for the month of May. The display case is about 7 foot wide, 5 foot tall and 14 inches deep. It has four glass shelves that are fixed in place which causes logistical considerations on getting materials in the back of the case. But this is a solvable problem. I will be putting out an email to the club asking for temporary loan of a few articles of interest to place on the shelves. We have the printed materials and pictures pretty well in hand with our trifolds that Monica and Ed put together last year. A few pieces of historical equipment such as tube amps or radios, CW keys, other electronic components like large capacitors or coils would be interesting. A few modern radios and computer circuit boards we have covered unless you have something really photogenic. The case is locked but all materials used are not the responsibility of the library nor CARA against theft, damage or loss. We will be meeting again to do a mock up and work on making a positive statement for CARA. This cannot be a recruiting tool per library policy. Rather it will be a statement of how the club works with the county during emergencies and events. We will have a tie in with SkyWarn, ARES/RACES, EOC and other communication services we provide.
On another note, I am coordinating with Historic St Mary's City and St Mary's County Amateur Radio Assoc. for the Museum Ships Weekend June 4-5. I have been in contact with both and we will have a meeting on March 23. If any of you would like to attend this site survey, let me know. I now have a POC at SMCARA and an alternate. Who wants to be an alternate for CARA?
And I took a trip to Chesapeake Beach to look at American Legion Post 206 for possible use as a Field Day site. We need to schedule a group tour of this site later with the post commander. It has possibilities but not sure how it will work. The upper parking lot has lots of tall trees around the edges and is a huge paved parking lot.. There is a small grassy area at one edge. There is no covered area and I'm not sure we will have overnight access to the bathrooms or a safe shelter from storms. We will have to provide our own shade outdoors and all of our power for computers and radio, I think. There is large fire pit and a lot of firewood but no kitchen or AC space except for going in the post itself. Definitely needs another look see with the post commander to see how far they can go. He will ask his executive board this week if we can use the space.
And I need someone to help me out. I'm getting swamped with club stuff, political activism and environmental activism. Plus I have a short trip to Canada in May when I will miss the regular meeting. I need someone to make a few email contacts to see if we can get a speaker for our meetings. Help me out here, please. I have the list from MDC of our volunteer speakers and it is online on the MDC webpage. Just need someone to contact some of them. Thanks.
You board members get this first. I'll share with the club later much of this info.
