Field Day offers a great opportunity to get high-quality shots.

In fact, ARRL currently has a photo contest going on for the 2018 calendar. 

"Just email a high-resolution image of you or a friend operating on the air. Send it to: qst at arrl.org. You can send more than one image, but use a separate email for each image. No zip files, please.
Include a description of what is taking place, the location where the photo was taken, the name and call sign of the person shown, and the name and call sign of the photographer.
Please note: If the photo contains minors, ARRL requires permission from a parent or legal guardian before a photo will be considered. Contact us for a copy of our photo waiver form.
If your photo is selected for the calendar, you'll receive $50! Deadline is June 30!"

Another photo tip: If you are using a digital camera, turn the date/time stamp off, and don't superimpose captions or titles on a photo. If a photo is going to be considered for publication, anything superimposed would need to be photoshopped out of the image. This can affect whether your photo will be chosen for publication or not. Include all the who-what-when info as text in an email accompanying your photo.
