To All,
I just received a phone call from Simone Jewett who is the Development
Manager Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Maryland Chapter and the Race Director
for the CFC Bike Ride that we worked yesterday. Simone wanted me to pass on
big THANK YOU for our work in keeping the course safe and hope we can do it
again next year. Also thanks from me for making my job a lot easier.
Without using your valuable free time to do this long event, we could not have
pulled this off. You all did a great job even with new routes for all
courses.
Special thanks again to Paul Mills (KB3KWT) and Ron Boller (N3WOF) our
Dynamic Duo at Net Control. Ron did the setup for Net Control. Ron and Paul
did a great job working through the noisy repeater.
Special thanks to Rest Stop #3 recording all 65 mile runners and times. It
greatly helped us in tracking the bikes to Rest Stop #4. We will do it
next year and hopefully send the Bike Bib numbers and times to Rest Stop #4. It
appears to be a great application for packet.
Also special thanks for Jim Tetlow, K3UGA for following the last bikes to
within 1.5 miles of the finish line.
We could not have pulled this off without the participation of various
clubs. Thanks to the following members from the following clubs: Calvert Radio
Association ( CARA), Anne Arundel Radio Club (AARC), Maryland Mobileers
Amateur Radio Club (MMARC), and the Charles County Amateur Radio Club (CCRC)
allowing complete coverage of the course. This was a joint operation and
hopefully you met Amateur Radio Operators from other clubs in the area.
We had the following operators around the course:
Christina Bailey KC3HCN (Chaneyville Road)
Bruce Becker N3KNP (Rest Stop #3)
