Hello all CARA members.
If you do not know which one to do the cystic fibrosis cycle race OR a ham Fest. Let me help.
Please if you have time DO to bike race. It's a lot more fun than a ham Fest you actually get to use your equipment with other hams. It's lots of fun.
I'm have a prior commitments with RF connections to be at the ham fest. So if you would like for me to pick something up for you. Please let me know W3PQS at Comcast.net I can do that. That should free you up for the bike race. If I can leave the ham fest early enough. I will contact the net control to help.

To All,
This is a final request to provide communications support to the Cystic Fibrosis Cycle (CFC) for Life Bike Ride on Sunday, October 22, 2016 at Harrington Harbor South. Herrington Harbor South is located at: 668 Friendship Road, North Beach, Maryland 20714.
The ride as described by the CFC Committee describes the “ride through the most scenic terrain along Maryland’s treasured Chesapeake Bay. CF Cycle for Life features well-stocked rest stops every 10-12 miles, bike mechanics along the route support vehicles, great food and entertainment.”
There will be three routes: a 15, 30, and a 65 mile route. This is not a race but a ride.
This is the CF Cycle for Life web site:
http://fightcf.cff.org/site/TR/Cycle/154_Maryland_Baltimore?fr_id=5391 <http://fightcf.cff.org/site/TR/Cycle/154_Maryland_Baltimore?fr_id=5391&pg=entry> &pg=entry
We plan to have operators at the start/finish, rests stops, support vehicles, key intersections, and on support vehicles.
We only have three (3) volunteers from CARA. I have volunteers from AARC, CCRC, and the Mobileers. This supposed to be a CARA event. I need a few more operators. To date we have the following volunteers:

BRUCE
BECKER

This event is being coordinated by the Calvert Amateur Radio Association (CARA). Last year and hopefully this year we augmented the CARA with the Anne Arundel Radio Club (AARC) and the Maryland Mobileers Amateur Radio Club (MMARC) operators. This is truly a joint operation and a perfect opportunity to meet Amateur Radio Operators from other clubs in the area.
If you are interested in operating at either of these events, please send an Email to: <mailto:kh6cuj at aol.com> kh6cuj at aol.com.
Aloha,
Les Silva
