Youth Protection Training (YPT).
The only training requirement is that you take the Youth Protection training.
It is found at: http://www.scouting.org/Training/YouthProtection.aspx
YPT is required for all adult volunteers that show up in the park for the CUBOREE.
YPT Key points:
* Remember two deep: Always have at least two adults with one scout or two scouts with one adult. If you plan to set up a simplex net, then as long as everyone is in sight of another adult, then you are within guidelines.
* No touching unless safety and speed are needed. Or you ask permission first.
This is my first take at the event. The plan is not set in concrete. I will appreciate any suggestions or corrections to the above plan. My proposed ideas leave a lot of room to be flexible just in case something bombs out, i.e. satellite reception or the HF propagation sucks.
This is a great opportunity to display the various capabilities in Amateur Radio. If you are interested in volunteering, please send an Email to Les Silva at: kh6cuj at aol.com Let us not clutter the reflector. If volunteering please provide the following:
1. The station/activity you want to work
2. Your preferred location, i.e. home or at the park
3. The hours that you can work (all day, or a portion of the day)
4. Any equipment that you can provide to work the event
Aloha,
Les
