I sent this out earlier, and only had one response from WG3K, but if you think about it with two members running a wires x node, one with setting for 146.985 and the other for setting for 444.950 we have and RF / internet link to the two repeaters. If the nodes were set to analog all members (and anyone else) could use that link to communicate through both repeaters, there would be a delay due to the internet, but no more or less than the echolink delay. If the nodes were set to digital than all users of C4FM in range of one repeater would have use of both repeaters.
Then next step is two nodes for analog, two nodes for digital. Some may already be in place if the owners might agree??? With 4 nodes all modes of FM/DN EVEN VW could function.
Something to think about and no cost to CARA, no internet required at repeater sites, no extra equipment at repeater sites, just a couple of members putting a node in place, similar to echolink, and we could still host our echolink node on one repeater (if someone volunteers to do so....hint hint tickle tickle!)
Open attached .pdf and think about this?
Sent from my iPad,
