[K3CAL] A UPS for Field Day & More Extension Cords?

I can add 2 UPS to the equipment that I will bring to field day. Between the two of them, there should be enough of a reserve to keep the computers running for all of field day.

    You mean computers or members?

        Maybe we'll need fewer of those old ones at Mt Hope.

          Shawn,

          Ed's bringing 3 computers to FD, so I will call him at work to
          alert him to your email and contact you asap.

              All,

              I stopped at Mt Hope yesterday and put the latest FD
                logging software on the two laptops there.   Already
                have it on the laptop I plan to bring.

              But ... ALL THREE laptops have marginal/dead
                batteries.  One is so dead that you have to enter the
                date/time in BIOS on every power-up.

              So if anyone has a UPS capable of running at least
                three laptops, that would be a great addition to the FD
                plans.   Otherwise we'll be hassling with computer
                reboots/config/networking whenever the AC power drops;
                [  that never happens on FD  ;-)  ]

              Alternatively, if we have a power outlet in the
                pavilion, we could power all the computers off of
                SMECO's AC main.   I think the rules only require that
                the radios be fed by emergency power for our planned
                class of operation.

              In either case, more extension cords will be needed.

              Shawn
