Got this info via Brian.   Interesting history of our club call sign, K3CAL.   When Woody Schwartz, W3ZNW, became a SK, we needed a new trustee for the repeater.  Woody was the trustee and the repeater operated with his callsign.


At that time, we did a search of available callsigns and found that K3CAL was available.  We applied for the callsign and the rest is history.

BRIAN.. Just wanted to drop you a quick note mentioning tat I was the original liecnse holder of your club station call sign  back in '58...This info can go into your club archive.. ..

I have been on the air since '57, KN3CAL, k3CAL, W1DHD and now present AA3EJ..

CW QRQ op only past 45 years and sure is nice to see that my old call is being taken care of!!..

Anyway, just wanted to share with you this info and attached a copy of the FCC licenses..with a big "CANCELLED" across the pic.. so you know who once had this FB call sign!...
