Ed,

Since you're having a board meeting, I'd like to propose we install a 2m digipeater at the Prince Frederick site to support Winlimk 2000 messaging in and out of Calvert. Ever since W3SMD took down his Winlink Gateway in Charles county, we have not had a reliable gateway within reach.

We already have the equipment....an old KDK transceiver married to a KPC-2400 TNC. They are on a shelf at Mt Hope. Just need a power supply and possibly a rack shelf. I think there is already a Polyphaser on the unused 2m feed line but we may need one if I'm wrong.

While not 100 percent required, I'd also like to add some hardware off the audio on the DR-1X 440 repeater that would allow us to turn off the power on the digipeater by touch tone should it get locked in transmit for any reason.

I have a 12 amp Astron power supply we can use but it needs repairs first, which I will do.

If we had internet at the PF site, we could put in a true gateway, but the digi should serve us well for now.

Unfortunately I can't make the Tuesday meeting, hence this long email.

Subject: [K3CAL] Board meeting Tuesday, July 5

All;

It looks like we may need to have a board meeting after all.

Let's shoot for July 5th, at the IHOP in Prince Frederick, at 7:30pm.

Agenda:

Link radios for the repeater.

Status of the antenna mounts on the Prince Frederick Repeater.

Field day results.

Anything else anyone thinks needs to be discussed.

Thanks;

Ed
