Thanks Ed, very good information, wish you could participate; but this may
become an ongoing event we will support, so everyone will have so much fun
they will be pushing members aside to get on board for next year HaHa!
Check on the back emails from KH6CUJ, Les and you will see our plan of
active events we will provide.

Jim,
It sounds to me like you may be making this over-complicated for you. As
long as you use your call sign and the other station's call sign, and
identify every 10 minutes, I am sure no one at the FCC will care one way or
the other (it's a weekend; being good government workers, they are all at
home). "Ad lib" is likely all right.
These Cub Scouts will be 8 - 11 year old boys. If you get more out of
them but a "hello" you are doing well. Their attention spans are very
short.
Be prepared for some of them using "CB" jargon, too (breaker breaker,
etc.).
At most, each group will have a few minutes at the amateur radio station at
the Cub-or-ee. It is one station of many they get to visit.
Anything you say about amateur radio will be most welcome. Remember to
define your terms (they have no idea what "Q" signals are) and refrain from
amateur radio jargon.
You might mention that amateur radio works when their precious cell phones
fail. And, your idea of discussing the amateur radio on the International
Space Station will probably interest them (there might be a resource or two
on the Internet that may provide you some ideas).
Cub Scouts sometimes earn an award called the "Communicating Belt Loop."
You might inquire whether anyone in the group has one and to describe what
they had to do to earn it. See attached file.

I am unable to commit to help because I may be working Saturday. If I can,
I will check in occasionally.

amateur with them so their call will be used per contact to net control so
do I address this person (and log this person) as (legal callsign) x3xxx
then the cubs name?

thought it was "scout" driven as a net. Why don't I just modify our regular
2 meter script and use that if you don't mind. The uhf can be the same, and
that will be the first net on our NEW 70 cm repeater station at home in
Prince Frederick. I'm very jealous that I can not get into the repeater
there from my house, but when Les, Shawn and Dave H ran a test yesterday, I
did hear it!!! And not too badly at that.
