I believe that there is a 'misunderstanding' on the title page of the
final version of the checklist.
on the checklist, the 'Start time is listed as "noon"...I believe
that by ARRL 'direction' , Field Day can't start til 6:00PM UTC
("Corodinated Universal Time or Greenich Mean Time
[GMT}......sooooooooo guess what ??...math is needed to convert UTC/
GMT to Calvert County 'local'...the quick answer is to get the UTC
time and subtract 4 hours (compensates for Daylight Saving Time...so
(again according to ARRL 'direction') we can't start til 2:00 PM /
1400 hrs local Calvert County time.
Also , I believe that ((again according to ARRL 'dirtecton') , we
can operate til "2100 hrs UTC/GMT" which translates to 5:00 PM/1700
hrs. local Calvert County time. Based on last years performance/lack
of interest.. no one knows when we will quit on Sunday
here's the link to all of this on the time side
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
..unlike some folks in the club, I TRY to provide a reference when I
pontificate...as in all things like this, check with Ed ...to see if
he agrees
Thanks
