Tom,
Insufficient info on their web site. My concerns:
1. Can you adjust output voltage to 13.8 vdc? Most all amateur radio gear wants 13.8, not 12v. Some gear will not work well or at all on 12v.
2. No mention of regulation quality (voltage swing over full current range).
3. No mention of minimum required load. Some switching power supplies MUST have some minimum current draw from the load or they self-destruct.
4. No mention of RF interference generated. Some poorly designed switching power supplies are terrible noise generators, essentially wiping out reception on all HF bands.
5. At $19.99, the old adage 'to good to be true" may apply.

Subject: [K3CAL] High Current 12 volt power supply
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I was recently looking at 3-D printers and came across the Folger Tech
website (www.folgertech.com).
I don't know much about them or their product line other than it seems
to be fairly inexpensive and in kit form (Clearly, to major pluses for
the ham radio community.) What also got my attention was the 12 volt 30
amp power supply that they were selling for their printers. Again, I
can't speak to its quality, either of construction or power output. But
at $19.99 for a 360 watt power supply, it seemed that it might have ham
radio related applications. (I am considering using one as a dedicated
supply for my 2m digipeater, if I ever put it back on-line.)
Does anyone have any experience with Folger Tech or any other thoughts?
