Good Morning,
Thank you for an enjoyable field day experience. Between the good
friends, good foods and good contesting, it was an enjoyable weekend.
Getting back to ham radio, I am putting up a Cushcraft R9 at the home
QTH. I plan to put the R9 on top of roughly 12 foot high mast with a
concrete base. After checking the web, the ARRL website and the
instructions that came with the antenna, I still can not find any
information on how large to make the concrete base. Because of where
the antenna will be placed, I am not expecting to guy it. The location
is fairly well shielded from high cross winds. However, if need be I
will add a horizontal support off of a balcony that is about 20 feet
above grade.
If anyone has any thoughts on the size of the concrete base or can
direct me to where I can get information on how large it should be, it
would be appreciated.
