[K3CAL] CARA Offering Class for Extra License

I plan to take this class, though will miss weeks 2 and 3 due to an already planned family trip.  I hope my ARRL 9th edition will work for studying for this course.

All,



CARA will be offering an Extra license class beginning on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 and running through June 9th.   The class will meet once a week on Tuesday's from 7PM to 10PM EXCEPT the third Tuesday of the month, which is our monthly ARES meeting.



There is no fee for the class but purchase of study books/manuals is on your own nickle.



Location is the Calvert County Services Building, 150 Main Street, Prince Frederick, Md. 20678.  This is the same location where we have our monthly CARA meetings,



Attendees are responsible for procuring their own study guides.   Either the W5YI Extra Class study guides (http://www.w5yi.org/catalog.php?sort=4) or the ARRL Extra Class Manual (http://www.arrl.org/shop/ARRL-Extra-Class-License-Manual-10th-Edition/) are suitable, but the class presentations will more closely follow the topic sequence of the ARRL manual.   



Students may wish to consider augmenting license manuals with an on-line service such as http://www.hamradiolicenseexam.com/   To pass the Extra with confidence, attending the weekly class is not enough; self-study is required on your own time.



At this time, we're not sure if we will be able to offer a local test session after the course.  Working on it ...
