A few have asked me if I knew what the difference between the FTM-400 
and FT1 original versions and the new XDR's. This is direct from Yaesu:

Yaesu is proud to announce the new FTM-400XDR Mobile and FT1XDR Handheld 
Radios. These radios contain upgraded GPS units and a new extended life 
SBR-14Li 2200mAh battery with spring loaded belt clip (FT1XDR). The new 
GPS modules provide increased accuracy and a much faster Time to First 
Fix (TTFF).
