Hello...! Eric's idea, (adventurer) after hearing of my Cabin in
Va..2.5 hrs from here... wondered if I wanted to put the Summit of Knob
Mountain (Elevation about 2600 ft) on the air.... a camping and QRP
Adventure (5 watts) .... The Summit is 1.5 hrs up
hill, 1000 feet higher up, for the well fit only.. prior
camping/walking experience a plus... QRP (unless you carry the
appropriate extension cord)... I have Tents already for 3 and 5 people
already..

I can think of maybe 3 - 8 of our many club members that may be
interested... my home will be open for the base camp at 1650 ft
Elevation.. (just don't fall out of the sliding glass windows please)...
please bring potable WATER! ..really..just ask... the cabin
has bathrooms/beds, and all accoutrements and borders on the Park
(pretty).. 4 Wheel drive only (I am not responsible for oil
pans), rough road, ask around...

for those interested in the adventure, Please Respond by Sending Me a
list of your QRP stuff like mine:

    Yaesu FT-817nd
40 meter Small Wonders Lab cw transceiver
    Elecraft T-1 tuner
    20 mtr Dipole
    40 mtr Dipole
    Pack-12 vertical**** antenna
    Batteries, wire, rope,
Tents, and Everything a camping group needs (except their sleeping
bags, food and water)

Send you thoughts and your plan... great spot for HF
microwave.and SSB. VHF/UHF...

We would need a backpacking permit from the Park, (by
mail)... NO FIRES allowed in park, cook stoves only!

Maybe consider Nov/Dec, or after next Winter thaw, (less insect
problems) just checking interest...

                   (start your cardiac training!)

                                                     Thanks Steve N3IPN
