[K3CAL] Local contest idea

I read where an amateur radio club hosted a local "contest" as something fun to do during the month.  These contests were basically like you'd expect: contact as many people in your county for points.  I like this idea.

I'm proposing we do a little 2m sprint later this month.  Maybe carve out two or three hours one evening when everyone can get on the air (simplex) and try to work as many other hams in Calvert County as they can.  We can assign points based on power and maybe mode.

Since I'm not expecting hundreds of entries (although there are 267 licensed hams in the county) I'll volunteer to do the work regarding accepting logs and announcing the winners.  I'm thinking maybe we can present the top three scorers with certificates and at the end of the year maybe the one with the highest combined score will get a prize or something.
