From Calvert Marine Museum's FaceBook page today. Thought those who participate in Field Day and Lighthouse Weekend might find this interesting.
Lots of memories made in our very own Drum Point Lighthouse! Recently discovered and interviewed is a 102 year old woman that lived in the #DPLH from 1922 – 1924. She was born at Cape Hatteras Lighthouse where her father was a Lighthouse Keeper. Her mother died at a young age, so it was thought best for this young girl to live with her older sister whose husband was the keeper at Turkey Pt. before transferring to Drum Point. Living on an isolated lighthouse, the little girl enjoyed rowing a skiff or playing on the beach with her dog companions. Quite often, there were numerous boats anchored nearby, sheltering from the weather in the lee of Drum Point. #TBT Pictured is Drum Point Lighthouse in 1925 - Photo courtesy United States Coast Guard
