Thanks, I will get the study guide and get to work. I got your email from the article in the Recorder today about the Amateur Radio Field Day ( which I will go to). I will see you on June 5. I might have met you with a group that was raising money for a repeater at the West Marine. I am the guy that works for the signal modulation technology company.

Yes, there will be a meeting of CARA on June 5.  Go to k3cal.org for further info.  We're always open to new members.  I don't know of another class right now, but don't let that stop you.  I got my General without taking any classes.  Just got the technician and general class study guides and spent time with them then went online and took sample tests until I felt comfortable that I could get a decent score.  Took both tests at Anne Arundel Radio Club in Davidsonville and passed the same day.  
 
Do you need transportation? We're meeting in Courthouse Square across from the County Courthouse.  Park in the back parking lot and we meet on the lower level on the left as you enter.

Curious as to where you got my email.  Do I know you?  Anyway, welcome to ham radio and you'll find interesting and informative and helpful folks in CARA.
