[K3CAL] field day

Hello all Cara members

Our field day will be held at the  Calvert Marine Museum 14200 Solomons
Island Rd., Solomons, MD 20688.

 

We will operate 3 or 4 Alpha with a GOTA station and VHF talk in on the
repeater frequency.

 

This is some of the things we discussed at the club meeting.

Set up time Saturday, June 28 6 AM main stage Marine Museum.

If you have a wire antenna please bring it also if you have a vertical HF
antenna please bring it.

One of our members cannot make it our captain of the digital station Bob
KF3AA also we were going to use his callsign for the gota station.

If you are going to be there and have a extra-callsign would you like to
volunteer your sign for the gota station?

I will pick up the generator from JimK3UGA Friday, 27 June I might need some
help.

We will be using to air cannons Ed KC3AEN and Dave W3PQS to put up antennas.

Bob N3PPH will help set up the computers for the logging program please get
in touch with him if you need more info

Sunday, June 29 at  12 noon to 1 PM we will be taking down all the
equipment, and antennas cleaning up the site so that we can be invited back
next year.

 

The stations we will be using

The stations K3 for CW and when not being used for CW we will use it for
digital

Ron will bring his ICOM 706 HF

The stations Kenwood TS430 HF

Dick N3VKW will bring his station HF

If you have a station and would like to use it or have training on it please
bring it to field day we will have experts there to help you also bring your
book with the station.

 

 

Things we will need to make a successful field day

1.      Antennas

2.      cable very very important

3.      ground rods

4.      fire extinguisher

5.      extension cords

6.      rope

7.      I am checking with the Museum to see if they will provide tables and
chairs I will let you know as soon as I get that info

8.      Things you should bring to be comfortable, your own chairs, fans,
bug spray,

 

I am sure that I forgot about 100 things if you can think of something
please put it on the reflector.

This event is a fun event for us please come and enjoy the fun
