CARA INCORPORATED has been in existence about 2± years.  CARA, not CARA
INCORPORATED, was in existence from 1954 - 2011 or 47 years.  Calvert
Amateur Radio Club, CARC,  started about the same time as CARA INCORPORATED
so there is not but a few days of bragging rights about being in existence
the 'longest' between these two ham groups. 

Actually, Southern Patuxent Amateur Radio Club, SPARC, though nearly all
hams except one to three hams in the County consider it a defunct
organization but does exist on the TMARC books for unknown reason to me
could be considered the oldest existing Amateur Radio organization (about
1985=??) in the County now though it currently has only ONE member - a
businessman who is also a FCC licensed ham or maybe two hams (WOW). It has
no operating repeater.  So, SPARC is the oldest "non-active" club that sort
of exist on paper nowadays.  Both SPARC & CARC are both owned by a local
businessman slash FCC licensed amateur radio operator which is contrary to
FCC Regs because it totally controlled by a local business, hence,  it is
totally opposed by the most hams here and many other nearby jurisdictions
too because Amateur Radio clubs is specifically set aside by the Government
for individuals to enjoy and play on the radio frequencies not for
'business' to control or own!

This is the short version of the various club's histories within the County.
Realizing this history lesson is splitting hairs on the definitions of
"existence" and most likely not important to a large percentage of the hams
here but it is what it is.  It is accurate to say though “CARA INCORPORATED
is the most active club with a membership currently in the County today".

Thanks for doing the Newsletter.  It is a lot of one's personal time
consumed putting a newsletter together for monthly publication with very
little input from the Membership.  Hope that changes soon (HINT)!  Burn-out
time is quick ~ less than 2 years for lack of contribution support.
