I don't think you read it all the way through.  If it is set up properly it
will take the digital signal and retransmit it in analog FM. If set to auto
receive and fix transmit. That is under "Replacing a conventional analog
repeater"

All, I found this leaflet on the net that makes it plain that when in AUTO
mode, the transmitter will transmit the same kind of signal it receives and
ONLY that kind.

I.E. Digital --> Digital and FM --> FM.
