David

I read where you want to use an amp with
the radio shack 10 meter. Before you do make
sure you know what version of radio you have.

Radio shack made a couple of versions of that radio
some of them were a 100 watt transceiver.
Also make sure that you know the input wattage limit of the amp,

Exceeding this limit of the amp with
Too much input or drive will cause bad things like distortion

 With your license the SSB
part of 10 is where you can play. If you are planning on
coming to the meeting tomorrow I can bring it with me.

Check to make sure, I think a
20 amp supply will run that. If it will I have one you can
use. It is my backup but works fine.

 Well as luck would have
it, the radio is scrap so I've been given the use of a
radio shack 10 meter mobile radio!  I just need to get a
power supply for it for house use or a trunk mount for car
use.  I've even been lent an amplifier for it!

So now the question stands, does anyone have a
trunk mount for an antenna that I can buy off of them or
does anyone know where I can get a decent price on a used
power supply?  Power supply would need to be about 30 amps
 I'm thinking.

David, While that Radio is stated
to be 10 meter if its been modified to operate on 11 meter
it is an illegal Radio. Actually any Radio That can be
easily modified to work on 11 meter its illegal.

if the  hi and low power has been modified and the
limiter removed chances are you going to have some
 undesirable operation on 10 meter.

 Just my 2 cents,

I was digging around in my basement and found an old Super
Star 121 CB/10 Meter radio.  I of course don't have the
manual so I have no idea how to figure out what channels are
what.  Does anyone have a freq counter that I can hook up
to see what's what?  Or maybe a simple freq counter
they're willing to part with for a reasonable price?

I'm interested in getting on 10 meters, but I need
 help.

 Thanks!
